- Searchable - end users don't have to sit through an hour-long presentation, they can search only for those parts that interest them. You can also search down to the individual slide from amongst a library of thousands of presentations.
- Online assembly - the presentation is assembled entirely online, using a drag & drop functionality within the browser. No software needs to be installed on the author's machine. People across the country can work on the same presentation.
- Remote video - the video that accompanies the presentation need not be on the authors' machine. HostCast can wrap a presentation around any Windows Media stream (audio and video) that is on a streaming server anywhere in the world.
- Remote slides - since slides are launched as URLS, existing corporate web content can be easily linked to corporate video. The video never leaves the corporate streaming server, nor do the web pages - they are merely referenced and synchronized by HostCast. PowerPoint slides can be uploaded to HostCast and are processed into HTML and indexed automatically.
- Email campaigns - presentations can be cost-effectively distributed through the email campaign and list management system. They can also be dropped to CD for off-line viewing.
- Business intelligence - the exact number of seconds someone watches the presentation is tracked by the system, along with their resolved IP address, connection speed etc. Detailed statistics on viewership are available.
- Security - all presentation views are controlled through the use of keys, which allow access to presentations to be controlled by password, date and time, domain, referrer and view count, preventing unauthorized viewing and re-distribution.
